It gives me great pleasure to welcome all delegates, faculty members, and distinguished guests to the Biennial Conference of PACVTS 2025, hosted this year by the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) under the able leadership of Prof. Dr. Asad Awan and his dedicated organizing team. PACVTS has always been a platform that brings together the best minds in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, and this year’s conference continues that proud tradition. The scientific program reflects the evolving landscape of our specialty — one where innovation, evidence based practice, and regional collaboration guide us toward better outcomes for our patients. At a time when the burden of cardiovascular disease is growing across Pakistan, our collective responsibility as surgeons, clinicians, and researchers becomes ever more significant. Meetings such as these remind us that progress in our field is built not only on technical excellence but also on shared learning, open dialogue, and a commitment to advancing care for all communities we serve. I wish to acknowledge and commend the immense efforts of the NICVD team for curating a comprehensive and high-quality academic program. Their dedication mirrors NICVD’s longstanding contribution to cardiac healthcare in Pakistan and its leadership in making advanced cardiac care accessible to the wider population. As we come together over these days, I encourage all participants to engage fully — to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and build professional relationships that will continue to strengthen our specialty. Let this conference serve as a reminder of our mission: to elevate the standards of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery in Pakistan and to work tirelessly for the wellbeing of our patients. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all attendees, including our esteemed national and international faculty, whose presence enriches this gathering.
