Professor Tahir Saghir has earned Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) in Cardiology, Fellowship of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI) and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He began his journey with NICVD in 2003, focusing on Clinical and Interventional Cardiology. As one of the two Certified Interventional Cardiologists for Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI), he serves as the Director of the Clinical Research Department and Associate Director of the Cardiac Cath and Intervention Department followed by in 2020. Under his leadership, the Clinical Research Department has conducted several successful research projects. Professor Tahir Saghir is presently serving as the Executive Director of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Karachi and fulfilling the responsibilities of Secretary to the Governing Body.
